Heading east to find enlightenment is not a new thing, but with a sharp rise in the popularity of yoga the demographic has shifted.  

This is no longer the hippie trail.

From 2011 to 2015 I photographed this new breed of knowledge seekers that flock to India, photographing them in the urban landscapes of the place they have chosen to expand their knowledge.  Taking them out of the comfort zones of their schools and accommodations into the streets, markets, fairs and temples we get a better perspective of what circumstances surround such journeys.
